I've seen some waves that "looked relative" to that in my small boat. Luckily they didn't break as we went up but the almighty crash when we fell off the top the other side I'll never forget.

Nope! Never want to see big waves ever again. And I'm going to avoid situations where they can occur.
In fact I've bought a canoe!!! for dawdling up and down rivers in the wintertime!!!
Canoe for the winter and motor cruiser for the summer. How about that?
