I went to a fund raising do on behalf of the Tsunamis disastar recenty. We along with other local businessess donated things for auction, ours was a one charter on the F36.
This post has remined me again of that occasion as after a few, I believe I bid for a day out on a local guys sailing boat. This will be a first, may get converted. I believe its a Bavaria 32? what are they like?
It very different, you may well enjoy it, its a different buzz to power boating, 8 knots on a power boat is just over tick over on some but on a saily boat it seems like you are flying along, I can see why people get hooked on it.
Yeah, but its all uncomfortable and lob-sided. You need a days decision to go more than 10nm...then sleeping on board...sheesh!!
Actually the only yacht I have stayed aboard is owned by Concrete John in Porthmadog. 13 tonnes of gentility. We were holed up in a F10 all night and she just rocked ever so slightly and with a lovely, just perceptible, creak as she leant side to side, gently rocking her crew to sleep. The wind and rain howled all night, but it was no worry to us. Much respect to Julie-Anne II.
