when i first opened up the electric panel on my 351 i noticed that the harness had loads of bare red and black wires bundled with the harness, thought umm but left them be. any way this winter fitted a nasa wind instrument and wanted to run a feed to the steering position. started to poke around in the lazarette to see if i could drag some wires thru, then saw that there was some spare connectors bundled by the used feeds to the existing instruments. looked closer and realised that there were numbers on the wires, paired numbers! went back to the panel and saw that the bare wires had matching numbers!
anyway meter said that they were one and the same. did some more checking on other bits about the boat. it appears that good old beneteau put spare wires into the loom and wherever there is a junction there is spare capacity. anyway didnt have to pull wires after all and also picked up a pair to put an extension speaker under the instruments in the cockpit
