Here's a "where are we" from Saturday Evening

I thought it was too easy. :) we were in Copperas Bay with 3 or 4 other boats overnight Saturday

The wind changed a full 180 into the west overnight and blew up to over 20kn overnight (3am) and wind over tide made it a bit uncomfortable .........

I was anchored up the Butley River. Wind was recorded on Slaughden Sailing Club weather as gusting 30 knots. I actually slept through most of it. Grand weekend otherwise. Precious little wind on journey home around midday.

We were at Osea - which has now become the haunt of the greater striped jetski. Buzzed all day; partied until the wee small hours. Such a shame - we'll be going elsewhere next time we want a quiet evening at anchor.

A quick look at the chart would suggest that the area around Osea is designated for bathing, speed limits reduced to 8 knots and swimmers have priority.

But I'm sure someone will be along soon to tell you you're being unreasonable to expect others to be quiet and 'noise is the sound of life' etc.

Idiot behaviour to be expected with the weekends forecast from both power and sail, the sun brings them out unfortunately.

The deterioration of the Blackwater is one of the reasons that we moved to Walton even though our friends were mostly there. A night at Osea of something that we looked forward to and for the most part the water skiers kept to the eastern end and there was no disturbance by the evening. Little by little things got worse and by the late '90s there was no pleasure to be had, though at least we were spared the sound of revelry from the shore. I believe that the river can be OK mid-week but haven't felt drawn to check.

We were in the Walton Basin (The Pond) - nothing spilled the gin in here.

Fair number of visiting boats who arrive on the morning tide having spent the night on a buoy in the Walton Channel - then away on the Sunday HW.

Nice bunch of folk so hopefully they will again make their way up Foundry Reach before too long.✔️

Currently at anchor in Hamford Water, enjoying a magnificent sunset and a glass of Portuguese Brandy - life could be a lot worse.

Pretty Dank in Hamford water this evening (Saturday 6th), but still a good dozen boats here :)

No Portuguese Brandy, but a coffee and a very large biscuit.....

FG (Famous Grouse) later maybe...

The only good biscuit to go with a drink is arrowroot. It's a shame you can't get them any more. We had intended to come down to Titchmarsh but were overcome by a fit of laziness.
