“The Swedish firm, Aligro Group, which now owns Henri Lloyd, has announced it is re-launching the brand in 2019 with a new range of products.

“It said the new collection would see 25 styles for men and women. The products are adapted for one design sailing, keel boats and superyachts, with a focus on Northern European and Mediterranean sailors.”

I think we can all see what they won’t be making and selling any more.

Guess they won’t be bringing back my favourite offshore drysuit (the one with the fly zip!) in that case.. I always liked that one because, once you have fought your way into a drysuit, you don’t want to fight your way out of it any time soon...*

(Yes, I know this is Unfair to Gurls. Some of the toughest sailors I know, both amateur and professional, are female.)

I was out on the water last Wednesday and, although it was bright and sunny, a rather cold wind appeared around lunchtime. I popped below to grab a jacket, and it was a red Henri Lloyd Ocean (?) jacket. Back in the cockpit, I started reflecting on my ownership of this jacket, and I reckon I bought it back in the 1970s. I chose it because it has an integral chest harness; very easy to hook a tether to. It's a bit faded, but it hasn't had a huge amount of use and is still waterproof. Pretty good for 40 years old.

I bought my red offshore suit in 1995. No longer a seagoing boater but, when the heavens open, I get into the trousers, pop on the jacket, and I’m snug as a bug in a rug, (whatever that means :) )

So if I read the other post correct HL goes bust has an empty pension pot and then starts up the following day. And we wonder why the general public are getting annoyed with business that do this.
