Good news for boaters - quite a turnaround
Festival to Stay at Regatta Site
The Board of the Henley Festival has today announced that, following concerns raised by the community of Henley about the move of the Festival from the Regatta site in 2014, an agreement has been reached with the Committee of Henley Royal Regatta which will allow the Festival to stay at the Regatta site in Henley for the foreseeable future. Both events are aware of their importance to the town and how well they have combined for the past thirty years.
The Board of the Festival, backed by the Committee of the Regatta, is committed to ensuring that the Festival remains a spectacular event for Henley and to deliver value for its charitable purposes. Sir David Bell, Vice-Chancellor, The University of Reading said, 'When it looked as if the Henley Festival was leaving its current site, the University - in the shape of the Henley Business School - was happy to become its new home. Although that will no longer happen, we wish the Festival every success and look forward to working together in the future.'
