Henley Bridge lights

I think we've had instances of two dutch barge types hitting the bridge in recent years. I can't understand what is going on in the Henley Herald report unless a strong current had the boat held against the bridge structure.
AH, yes, but the video showed the boat hitting (?) the bridge and struggling to get away.
Wasn't the incident wasn't when the River was on Reds?

I think it was 2012 early in HRR, while the river was just off red boards. A Dutch barge attempted to turn just upstream of the bridge and was caught by the stream, pinning it against the bridge and dislodging quite a bit of the masonry. One of Cook Piling's tugs pulled it off.

It was seen heading downstream with the stonework all over the deck. There have been several collisions since.

It was last Sunday (25th), river wasn't on reds but was definitely running a bit fast and maybe an inch or two higher than normal.
We saw it go past having just exited the lock and a comment was made "that he won't it make under the bridge with that canopy up".
He may have previously made it at normal summer levels so was probably confident until he reached the bridge and bottled it too late! Ended up broadsiding the bridge and dislodging a couple more bricks. The photo is indeed a older one from when one of the dutch barges hit it.
