Had one of those weeks - our Lavac / Henderson heads setup had a nasty. Struggled with it and admitted defeat (sorry - we gels ...) - however when we did get a plumber in he too struggled when trying to replace the metal post which holds the rocker assembly in place. In the end had to have a new pump (price £75 !). However when I tried to get a replacement post (like a 3" machine screw with a couple of nuts) it only came as part of the rocker assemly - price £33 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently using the wrong metal (e.g. machine screw and nuts) as opposed to the pukka Whale/Henderson post causes an electrolytic problem but I assume that we may have this issue in the future (we have 4 henderson pumps on board). Does anyone know of a supplier who can provide bits for the Henderson/Whale pumps at a more reasonable price ? please !!!!

You will find that Munster Simms in Ireland are the makers, or at least the agents, for Henderson pumps, and Lavac toilets.

I got my last spares direct from them. They are very helpful, and will take credit card orders over the phone.

Munster Simms Engineering, better known under the product brand name Whale, is an independent company engaged in the design, manufacture, marketing and selling of pumps, valves, faucets and plumbing (water systems) for use in mobile or low voltage environments.

Yep, agree with Phillip. We've dealt directly with Munster Simms for some years now as they will sell you any individual part for their pumps instead of you having to buy a full 'Spares Kit' from a chandler. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

For example, when living aboard for several years, we found it worthwhile changing the Joker valve on the Henderson (Lavac) pump about every two-three years. M-S sent them by return of post. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

IMHO they are one of the best suppliers around, sent me the bit I required FOC by return. I do wish they would include thje plastic nut in the OH kit for the Mk5 pump.
