Hempstead lock on the Medway open in time for Easter.

Allington lock website is saying that our shiney new rebuilt lock will be open and manned 9-5 over Easter.
Presumably to make sure everything works and heavy handed locals using the thing do not break it right away.

Its great to see major investment being made. The overnight moorings will certainly be handy when going for a weekend's ditch crawling!

Hopefully the dredger will have done its work as well by then,there are a couple of spots above Yalding and and immediately before Sluice Weir lock when you can feel the skeds on my outdrives going through the gravel on the river bed.

Just looked at the coastal wind over Easter....Ramsgate or the Thames could be off the menu and we may be trying out the facilities up river a lot sooner than we thought.
