Help

No problem….my initial thought is a stealth boat of some kind ??

Post a few pictures…..there’s some good boat identifiers on the forum ?

The first shock you get when joining the forum is how difficult it is to post pictures....in fact most use a hosting site like Postimages.org because the forum software is so clunky

Sorry I thought it had but really hard to post pictures
Sometimes it helps if you reduce the quality or if it’s on your phone or tablet, rotate the view of it and it sometimes reduces its size. Keen to see her. I love a wee “what’s this boat” post on a Sunday night !

Quite sure she is a Birchwood 20, without double checking. Have a look for yourself. She’s likely from the 70’s or very early 80’s. check that hull for osmosis though. Often these are left in inland water ways for years on end without being lifted to dry out for far too long. Old Birchwood boats and other like them, although well built things…are well known to suffer osmosis. Often hidden with a nice coating of paint or antifoul

Check her transom over too. Most of these I’ve seen recently have small engines on them for pottering about. But I knew if one that had a lovely Yamaha 2 stroke 70hp on her. Fairly capable hull in their day.

I strengthened the transom i spent some serious time fibreglassing this boatI have a 9 hp to go on it fast enough for the river

Thankyou for answering that for me just one more thing I need to give my boat a name do I need to register this
No. But depending on where you use her, some areas require a general registration or BSC of sorts. Have a wee look into it.
