HELP!!!!!

need a gearbox/lower unit for an old mercury 80 (4 cylinder 2 stroke), just had the powerhead and lower unit rebuilt, but now oil leaking through side of gearcase... yes, i know... take it back... but it's taken a year to get the t**t to put it back together, so not going back to him.

I'm told that the early 60 through 115 gearboxes fit, albeit with slightly different ratios, but to be honest just want the prop to turn!

anyone help me or point me in the right direction?

Are you sure its not two stroke oil from the engine there is a drain just above the water inlet, in any event its going to be more cost effective just to replace the gearbox oil regularly i.e. when it turn white?

I would think Bill higham is a good bet, 100's of 'classic' engines round his shop, and he does mail order. Be warned, he's not cheap, but he will get the right part for you.
