Anyone know anywhere in the UK that can service / repair an Italian engine room fire extinguisher that has a slow leak. Local guys to me (Essex) are struggling & the boat is not insured without one. I can get it shipped anywhere.

Find the manufacturer in Italy and then just DHL the unit to them for repair. I've been shipping stuff to/from my boat in Italy over winter and the cost really is quite reasonable. If you haven't got a DHL account, send it to me and I'll do it through my company. Who's the manufacturer and where are they based?

Why don't you go to any service place, the fact they are Italian shouldn't make difference it will be filled same way. They should be able to play around with it.

We have two fire firms round here, one wouldn't touch it in case it went off  & the other has got it out but now says he cant fix it so needs to find someone who can :confused:. Looks like finding the manufacturer is the best route, thing that concerns me is time, don't need it away for a month, as I have found often happens with things boaty.

Call Pater Henderson of Fireguard 07969 728 986. Say I suggested you call him. I have known him for years. He is one of the world's nicest guys, his knowledge is extreme, and he always plays it down the line.

Here is a pic from fire Co. if anyone can shed any light.

This is their website.
Not the best I've ever seen, TBH. And only in Italian, I'm afraid.
But if you click on "homepage" and then "contattaci", you can find their whereabouts.
"assistenza@italfire.it" is mentioned as the mailbox for technical assistance.
As I said previously, no problem to ring them, if you wish.
If nothing else, I can speak the same language...
...well, almost, since they're based in Sicily! :D

don't want to compete with ATLAS-COURIER-EXPRESS :)
but this weekend I have a Van coming to Rome, and returning to Belgium during next week, if this would be of any use...
