Help with wiring diagram symbol

Apologies, can't post a photo of the symbol I need help in identifying so I will try to use less than a thousands words ...,

The symbol looks like the under case letter a single letter 'm', but 'fatter and shorter'. It is sat inside a rectangle whose long side runs from left to right. To the left of the rectangle there is a triangle where the hypotenuse runs from bottom left to top right.

How did I do? I think it's a transformer but it doesn't look like any transformer symbol I've seen before.

You did well, I got what you mean but where is this symbol ? On a component, if so, in what ? Or on a diagram, if so for what ?

It's on a (boaty ...) intercom system.

I would bet its a microphone the triangle with be the push to talk.

The component with the "m" is an inductor, the other I can't picture. Why can't you post a photo?

The symbol you've described is the electric latch release on a door.

The bus its connected to looks numbered (I'm looking on a cell phone so its small) is there a key to see whats connected to that number pin?

I would agree with pvb, if you look to the left of the lock release symbol on your first photo is the push button which is normally near the door, so that the door can be opened either by that switch or remotely from one of the intercom stations.
