help with wire diagram for engine start panel

i have a single clylinder stuart sole 9hp diesal engine and looking to make a keystart panel for it can anyone assist i know that i need a swith with key and a red led bulb thingy but not a clue about how to wire up any help gratfully accepted

You mention a key switch and a warning light.
Anything else?

Low oil pressure warning light?
High temp warning light

gauges ?

No tacho?

Presume no glow plugs ??

You could copy the wiring of a simple panel for another engine if you cannot find a wiring diagram for your engine

One of the old Volvo Penta ones springs to mind ( pre electronc module days). Maybe even find an old panel and adapt that however necessary.

The basics would be something like this, but you could use a simple on/off keyswitch with a push button for the starter
