Can someone help? I am servicing winches and I have 2 x electric winches (Ocean 64 vintage 2001). I cannot remove the gears on the side that has the electric drive shaft coming up from below.
Do I have to unscrew the base plate off the deck in order to lift it up, and thereby lift the gears off the drive shaft. Having nearly lost some of the little bearings from within the other gear set, are there any other pitfalls to be wary of when doing the drive side?
I have the manual but it is cr*p!!
Thanks
