Hi boat people,
I really need your help!
I have been so unfortunate that the CAV rotary injection pump for my Watermota Sea Panther diesel engine broke down. The rod inside the pump is broken.
The model-number on the broken pump is not possible to read fully. But I'm pretty sure it says DPA 324 6857. I know that the broken pump has previously been repaired or maybe even changed by the former owner. The trouble is I can't find such a pump with that number anywhere.
I've found a manual for a Watermota Sea Panther mkII engine on google, which says that the injection pump for the motor is a CAV DPA 3247F160. But I don't know if my engine is a Sea Panther mkII or III or IIII etc.
I have located such a CAV DPA 3247F160 injection pump on Ebay and in the product description there is also says "fits a Watermota Sea Panther". Nothing about a Sea Panther mk-'anything'. Just "fits a Watermota Sea Panther".
The injection pump on ebay looks exactly like the broken one on my Sea Panther on the outside.
Can I count on the injection pump found on Ebay to fit my Sea Panther engine as it says in the service manual for the mkII and in the Ebay product description?
Or can it damage my engine if it's a wrong pump model for my Sea Panther engine??
