Want to attend the forumites do at Windsor but have to be heading back to civilisation on the Monday and want to catch the ebb.
What is the latest I can go through the lock in order to get past Richmond before gates put in place.
My tide table states HW at Teddington is 04.37 AM BST.
Will be at moorings above lock previous evening and bit reluctant to wait for following afternoon tide.
This is a delicate balance between getting home early and not leaving a comfy warm bunk in the middle of the blimming night when only Dracula and tealeaves should be around..

Hi there,

As you say , HW Tedders is 0437 , and it is a big tide ( 7.33m ) .... Richmond will be putting the curtain back in at around 0630 ( it isn't an exact science ) , Richmond is about 30-40 minutes downstream of us , so if you came through Tedders at about 0545 , by the time we lock you through , you should be at Richmond for 0630.

I'm the duty lock keeper that night , and if you ask me nicely I'll ring Richmond for you as you leave , so they know you are on your way , so if they decide to put the curtain in and you are just round round the corner , they will know you are coming and will delay it for 5 minutes or so /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

See you on the 1st

See how much better it is on the Thames /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif I was thinking from Teddington to Richmond was about 45 mins but with the tide pushing you ......
