Do you have a kill switch and lanyard ? Unless someone has removed the kill switch and shorted the wires it would not run . That would have left a hole in the front of the lower casing .

If the engine has been controlled by remotes then the stop switch would have been on the control box and wired into the loom.

I thin k you may also have your hydrafoil on backwards ?

Can you upload a picture of the front of the engine, it may help.

nope there isnt a stop switch i bought it off a guy on here trying to contact him by phone no joy yet he might be on holiday , as for a kill switch and laynard ive bought a new one looking at my manual for the engine theres 2 wires off the ht lead and stator with a place to connect the wires from cut out switch not sure if thats were it goes it like 1 wire with a double connection

No theres no kill switch attatced to it , theres a pull choke on the front and a rubber grommet with a little hole in it.

As landlockedpirate says , The kill switch or ignition switch on a remotely controlled engine is normally on the throttle / gearchange box . Do you have two wires not connected together that might be the the ones you short out to kill the engine , or a cable that runs to the control box . As you seem to be running the engine off the boat the cables are not connected to a kill switch so the engine would run .

There are 2 wires not connected to anything that come from under the stator and pull start housing but no control box .
