Good afternoon,
Before lockdown I removed my GRP water tanks to bring them home for refurbishment. During the removal process I was forced to cut (...semi-destroy) the seized water filler connector on the tank to remove it. At the time I assumed it would be easy to pick up an identical or at least very similar replacement, however it would seem not to be the case!
It's a 2 inch hose connector, hole in the tank also approx 2", with a 90 degree elbow. See photos below. I have tried the usual suppliers - Leesan, Tech-Tanks and a couple of others, however no-one seems to recognise it (possibly not marine market specific), or be able to offer a direct
replacement without enlarging the hole in the tank which I don't really want to do due to the location near the tank edge. Does anyone recognise this or come across an alternative? It is likely as old as the boat - late 80's early 90's. I was considering resorting to a Tru-design through-hull with a right angle adaptor, but not sure if that will be drinking water safe or not?
Any recommendations much appreciated.
thanks
Robert
