Help!! Simrad RD68 VHF Radio Hand Mic

Please Help. Anyone advise on how to repair my hand mic, as all the rubber "springy" outer casing has perished and split. I can see colourful wire. Can I repair or is it a case of buying a new one?

I'm assuming from your description that the cable strain relief has disintegrated. If it was mine, I'd probably try globbing some silicone over the whole lot, then mould it into shape with damp fingers. Or black sikaflex might look nicer. Or possibly sugru.

If it still works try some self amalgamating tape.If not,well I threw mine away after four failiures...
