I have two fiberglass poles which have developed cracks and as a result are leaking.

I need to seal the poles so as to stop the leaks, plus I would like to strenghten them to stop the problem in the future.

What should I do?

Wipe down with Acetone then a light sanding with a 200 grit to remove the gloss only, another wipe to remove the dust, then add cloth and epoxy, 2 layers of 300 gram should do the trick, for a nice finish a layer of light roving's applied to the wet resin will use up any surface resin.

You could use epoxy cloth in tape form and wrap in oposite directions if you think using sheets is going to be too difficult.

I would also advise a coat of epoxy flow coat or 2 pack paint after priming as epoxy will degrade if exposed to UV light.

Hope this helps.
