Can you all help me.......

I need to tell everyone about how many brilliant things I have/am planning to buy/expensive things I am off to do/sexy places I am going to visit and most of which are nothing to do with boats. However, how do I do it in such a way as to rub everyones nose in it and appear that I'm not trying to show off???

Help!!!!!!!!

It could also be that people dont really give a rats a**e what you are going to do, buy etc etc.

Or is that a little too thought provoking for you ???

Lymington waitlist

Pebbles it's only LYH that has the long waitlist. If you explain you are the right sort of customer (viz. earlier threads)you can get into Berthon immedaitely

Re: Lymington waitlist

Berthon is a kind of a boat yard with an incidental marina attached. If you go and speak nicely to them and your boat is nice and smart looking, and you explain that you will not be diy-ing much so you need them to do the lift out, antifoul, anodes, engine service, repairs and upgrades from time to time, they will try to give you a marina space. Bluntly, they seem to like the extra boatyard revenue and if you are going to help them in that regard you will jump any queue

This isn't at all a criticism of Berthon, they have a marina in a fab spot and they want to fill it with boats that give work to their yard, so this is the the way it is. Simple capitalist approach, the same approach that has provided us mostly with the money to buy our boats. One upside is that their yard work is of a very high standard - not cheap, but very well executed. Dave Street supervises most of it. He is a really nice guy and is a very helpful, knowledgeable and skilled boat fixer/builder. Also imho their position is much better than LYH because so much nearer town. I'd strongly recommend Berthon as a quality but not cheap operation

If you read this post carefully it says; "how do I do it in such a way as to rub everyones nose in it"...

Rather than saying "in such a way as not to rub everyones nose in it"...

Well Mark, you could give us all a clue as to what you intend getting up to - you've only given us half a tale here! And by the way, its all a matter of comparisons and experience. What you may class as brilliant, may be boring to others, and vice versa. You see, I might think that a trip along the North Wales coast is an epic voyage, but tcm's epic voyage from Sotogrande to Soton (1500 nm) in 4 days kinda eclipses mine.

See where I'm going??...

So... spill the beans. Lottery win??

markc if I have this wrong then I apologies..

I think the original post is a tongue in cheek swipe at some of the forums previous posts where it could be construed that the only reason people make posts is to.....

"tell everyone about how many brilliant things I have/am planning to buy/expensive things I am off to do/sexy places I am going to visit and most of which are nothing to do with boats. However, how do I do it in such a way as to rub everyones nose in it and appear that I'm not trying to show off???"

Or maybe I am right off track and saw more into the post than there was.
