I have one of these boxes fitted to my boat.

It picks up a signal from the fitted TV aerial and then provides a digital signal to my laptop hence 58 channels of clear TV when on board (all off 12v).

Now this worked fine until we went off to the West country in the summer and i retuned the reciever. Now back in the solent I have tried many times to re tune the beast and every channel works well EXCEPT ITV1. Here i get the picture OK but with the sound of ITV 24 News. This is very annoying as the only thing i watch (I think) on ITV is the Grand Prix and pitcture without sound is hopeless.

I tried talking to the maker helpline who advised a delete sequence in the sftware but this did not cure it.

Anone here got a clue on a cure? Must be a way to fine tune? No?

Thanks in advance...

There is a hack for the transmitter at Rowridge IOW.
You delete a file and replace it, do a search on the forums on the hauppage website I think.

Or use Showshifter, I do - the Hauppage software is terrible.

Thanks, who or what is showshifter?

I am not really that techy in this stuff so any guidance will be appreciated.

I would agree with your comment on the software - I have downloaded two or three software patches and had real issues when i first purchased the thing 18months ago!

www.showshifter.com a much better bit of software, has a better TVGuide, plays dvds and music. You can get it with an X10 wireless remote in a bundle price. (at least you could, I don't see that on the website right now)
