Does anyone know the location of one of those craft?

I urgently require to know the distance from the top of the lower black band on the mast (top of the boom) to the deck.

The problem is that two different versions were built. One is the competition version with a T shaped cockpit and the other is the cruiser/racer version with a shorter conventional cockpit. Both have different E and P measurements.

So far the only one I have seen is the racer/cruiser and of course I need the information for the other one.

I could make a sort of educated guess from the I and P dimensions but would rather like to know what the original distance was.

I require this measurement as I am nearing the end of a decade plus self build project based on an unused Contention 33 hull. I am now at the stage of drilling holes in a virgin Sparcraft mast extrusion.

Any help in locating a Contention 33 with a T shaped cockpit would be most appriciated.

Thanks Brian. Looked at the websites. I may find the info there. Did find some photos on photoaction.com which from Cork Week and Antigua week of Satsuma and Encore which when scaled seem to give the measurement at about 650mm which is the same as I measured on Contentious Eagle a cruiser /racer a few years ago. I have not yet followed up on Challenge K4664 at Haven ports but will do so next week. I will also try the RORC office to see if they still have the measurements from Pepsi in 1976. I will also try some other avenues that have been sugested.
But it would be so much easier if someone could just put a tape measure on a boat.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks Martin,
Unfortunately I require a little more info than IJPE . I already have the original manufacturers drawings for both the cruiser/racer and racing versions and the P and E dimensions quoted on those drawings are quite different on both versions.
I can confirm that she is a Doug Peterson design and was designed in 1975.
Thank you for taking the time to reply.

Re: one near me.

Very interested. Thanks, Where are You located
All I need is the name of the craft and a contact address/ email for the owner.
Or, the distance fron the deck to the top of the boom, particurally if it has a T shaped cockpit.

Thanks again

Iain

I am getting there.
I have a complete set of the original measurements coming from RORC for a similar craft of the same vintage and
Hoods have posted the actual specs for the sails I have for my craft.
I am drilling all sorts of holes in my new mast, but I have still to sort out the rigging.
I currently have a pile of documentation for this yacht which is several high, enough, I hope to confuse any RCD/home built busybody for at least the next five years.
