I'm trying to deal with someone at the moment who has a BTinternet.com email, he does not seem to get my replies. Is this likely to be their spam filter, and if so why does it do this to me and how do I defeat it? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Thanks in advance

If he is ready his mail in the Yahoo/btinternet web page then the spam is there in a second folder. However as Bt internet is a cuckoo in the Yahoo servers possibly if you are using Hotmail it is not 100%reliable. It seems Bill Gates and Yahoo don't always get on and sometimes takes a second attempt to sneak between them.

These are issues I have had for a while. Yahoo manages the BT email and my solicitors emails (as well as others) have been rejected (after a day or two) as Yahoo seems to just globally block IP addresses from ISPs who they suspect have 'unusual' email traffic. Even good emails sometimes take up to a day to filter through the Yahoo mail servers.

Only real solution is to get your own domain with an email/hosting provider such as Fasthosts.

So it's driven by the IP of my isp/host that I'm sending from?
I have my own domain name and use netweaver as a mailhost. I don't normally do anything important with people who use btinternet emails. I'll have to phone him I guess!
I wondered if it was sensitive to the content or title?

If he can find the e-mail in his spam filter by using webmail (tell him go to btinternet home page and sign in to his e-mail account) there will be a foder called Spam if your e-mail is there he needs to click on it then mark it as "not Spam" the e-mail filter should then learn from this and any more you send should go directly to his computer when he opens outlook or whichever e-mail program he is using.
