help me get out of the dark and smelly...

Taking lines off for washing and checking i have cocked up - thankfully not a halyard but a single line reefing line at the mast. I tied the mousing line at the clew end and pulled merrily away not noticing that i had pulled the line out...any ideas on how i can fix this please?

Use a length of rigging wire as a mouse ! If its in the boom or a piece of bike chain coupled with cordage in the mast

If its the type of single line reefing that has a pair of blocks back to back inside the boom, and you have pulled the mast end part through, just pull the two blocks to the boom end and then use a piece of wire (I use an old piece of guard wire) to re thread the line.

Norman yes its the back to back type. How would I go about doing what you suggested? Not sure I can visualise this.

Tie a loop in a thin thread
Tape the neck to one of the other lines
Pull it to the other end
Fish from the empty ole with a bit of wire
Don't ask me how I know it works 2x ....
