I'm currently restoring a 30' Brooke Marine Motor sailor. Trying to do everything properly, project is going well, but slower than thought. I'm looking for someone who has experience to help to get her back in the water. The boat is based in the Bristol area and is inside out of the weather!

That all sounds pretty normal. Slower than expected, more expensive than expected, they are all standard expressions for the boat restorer. When I bought my old ketch I could see at least four years worth of work in her, and when I sold her 15 years later I was still doing things, although to get her sailing only took 8 years. I learned an awful lot along the way!
Peter.

You could have a chat with Jason at Tommy Nielsen's in Gloucester. Good chap who'll help you if he can. Tell him William McCann sent you. When you do finish the boat don't forget to bring her back to her birth place at the Brooke North yard in Oulton Broad, Lowestoft.

Hi William

Thank you very much for this, do you have any idea how I could get in touch with him?
When I finish the boat I would love to take her back to her birth place. If I do I would let you know along with all the other Brooke enthusiasts.
Regards
Paul

I too am restoring a Brooke boat, a 1937 auxilliary cruiser. I live in Norfolk so I called in on the B.M . archivist, he gave me some really interesting stuff like the original Bill of sale and the original build spec ( copies ) along with a couple of 1950s photos.
PM me your e-mail & I'll send you his details, if you don't have them already
John
