Hi wanted to pick your brains and see if you could give any advice,
My ignition on the boat has failed , it turns to the first click , ignition/alt light comes on the dash, and then nothing .....
I am sure its just the ignition switch , starting it off the terminals on the starter motor is no problem at all......I really want to get fishing this weekend is there any way round this problem as a quick fix untill i can sort it out next weekend, do you think the alternator would still charge if i just started it off the terminals on the starter motor.
Even when i am starting off starter motor the alternator/ignition light stays on and doesnt go off...
I am pretty sure its not a prob with the alternator and just the switch, im useless with electrics any advice will be very much so appriciated.
