Hi , got a couple of MS x gearboxes but i don't know much about them. Any info would be appreciated. Also if they are worth keeping hold of.

Early MS box with a modification to clutches ? (X) is an indication of modification
the reduction gear housing is prone to frost cracking and general disintegration if stern gear is fouled by rope
a Volvo dealer may be able to give more information
Perhaps originally fitted to MD 5 6 7 1 2 3 or 11

Was told it was for an MD17d, ended up with 3 spares in working order for an old launch i just bought. don't know much about volvos and wondering if theres anything specific to them i should be careful with.
