Hello,
I was hoping to find some help online to identify my grandfathers (Peter Humphreys, Peterborough) yacht.

As far as I am aware the plans were a winner of a (Yachting World) competition.

Known Information:

Name: Fiona
Type: Aux. Bermudan Sloop, modified Y.W. 'Peoples Boat'
Length: 23 feet
Draught: 3 feet, 3 inches
Built at: Jacksons Yard, Peterborough
Launch: July 1956

RYA Registered Sail Number: 128Y

She was sailed around the south coast and Thames estuary and sold in 1975 to a Mr J.P Mills of Teddington

Can't help with this particular boat but I did own a sister ship 'Naiad' during the 1980s.

I don't think many YM Peoples Boats were built, I never saw another myself. Naiad was built by Norman Barber of Gravesend Sailing Club in the 70s. She was oak framed with double diagonal iroko planking and had a fractional bermudian rig. A very nice sea boat, I sailed her single-handed around Britain during my ownership. I last saw her on a mooring at Bradwell about 1995. I would be interested in any information about her current whereabouts.
