Help - Charts for Isles of Scilly

The daughter is in Penzance planning to go to the Scillies tomorrow evening, the trouble is she didn't think ahead about charts assuming she could pick some up in Penzance or at a push a trip to Falmouth tomorrow morning on the train / bus.

The Bosuns locker isn't answering the phone and yellow pages is giving little clue as to other chandlers. I know there used to be a chart shop close to Bosuns Locker, but can't find a phone number. Has anyone any ideas where else she might try.

She is after Imray 2400.2 - Approaches to Isles of Scilly and 2400.3 Isles of Scilly.

They are poor and don't want to have to buy a folio as they have all the other charts they need of that area.

Ask another boater if you can photocopy theirs until she can buy one. The scillies chart would fit on one sheet of A4 IIRC but she will definately need one because it's like a maze in there. Beautiful place with an anchorage for any weather.
 
try and get a photocopy the charts you require are A3. (however you may struggle with copyright etc...)

I got the train from penzance to falmouth a few weeks ago. it was 8squid return and changed at turo took 1.5 hours each way !

Have relayed the info to daughter, (mothers come in useful). She still can't get hold of bosuns locker on the phone, but Mylor have the charts, so it is on the train to Falmouth in the morning with a quick stop at the bosuns locker just in case, then ferry and shanksies to Mylor.

In the meantime I think she is investigating photocopies, but I'd prefer she had the real thing in that part of the world!

Thanks for your PM, I have replied, but my sent folder says 0 messages, so now am a bit confused, but I did used to be blonde!


Thanks for the offer, she was going to take you up on it, but they have now got a chart. They went somewhere to get a part for a pump and there were charts behind the counter. She did try ringing them yesterday and was told they didn't have any.

So now they can get to the Scillies, any local knowledge as to where to go or is that top secret?
