Help!! Broken winch

I have a pair of Arco 16 two-speed winches (not self tailing). One broke today and the central column leaped out, follwed by a splash, while sailing today

Any chance of used parts, second hand winch etc? A quick ebay didnt help. Where could I get parts, or replacement without paying silly money??

Get some self-tailers and enjoy yourself. They’re worth half an extra crew member. OK, they cost a bit, but you can just cut the children out of your will.

There used to be a place down on hamble selling old parts etc -cannot remember name sorry but maybe a google might locate .

This may not be of any use, at all. And success might be a factor of delivery costs. I bought one (ST) about 15 years ago when we installed a 150% Genoa and new sail tracks - no issues (but not the same problem you describe)
