We came up to St Kats yesterday from Shepperton with 6 other boats, no problems on the way. We had 2 freshly filled fuel tanks and used part of each on the way.

We waited in the lock for an hour or so with the engine off, then when it was time to go into the marina the engine started but died as soon as I tried to move on.

So far I can confirm fuel gets from the tank to the fuel filter OK and from here into the fuel pump. Fuel comes out of the fuel pump fine and goes into 'a big shiny metal box with FIU written on it', I don't know what this bit does. If I disconnect the feed into the fuel rail and turn the engine over I get no fuel here so I assume this is the problem but I can't diagnose any further than this.

There is what appears to be a solenoid that feeds into the airbox, this has an open spigot on it, with a thumb closing this spigot the engine starts and idles for a short period of time.

I don't know who to call out to fix it, any suggestions please?

If you speak nicely , there is a small chance that NYAs senior engineer, who was and still may be with them in St Kats could help. No harm in asking but do ensure hes properly rewarded if he does help.................Im sure you will. Good luck.

TMR Marine are on the case, they have confirmed my suspicions that the high pressure fuel pump is u/s and hopefully they'll be able to fit a new one in the next day or 2.
