Hi,

I'm currently looking into acquiring a larger boat for estuary and coastal use – currently using a small inflatable. My engine, which I plan to keep, is a 15hp Mercury 2002 2-stroke short-shaft manual-start tiller (bought brand new). Are there any 13-17 foot clinker-style cuddy boats that would suit my short-shaft engine? I've contacted Orkney, and they say their boats are long-shaft only. And, would my engine be compatible with an electronic steering system?

Any help or advice greatly appreciated.

Regards,

may be have a look on ebay at various types of boats selling with short shaft, that may give you some idea. i know if you could source the parts second hand cheap you could convert to long shaft, i believe it is fairly straight forward. good luck
