I have just purchased my first big boat x defence Noosa Cat 3500 fitted with 2x Yanmar Diesels4L.HA-STZP and 2x Mercruiser leg model num 5337600TP S/N 2A019119 all new in 2012 did 1130 hours then was parked up for 12 months in water till I purchased it have not started motors as yet, have it out of water and doing full service to motors and legs before starting. Did notice water was getting into engine room not much but some have fixed. Notice under air filter all is rusty is there something I can do to clean before starting. If anyone can give a newcomer some advice I would appreciate any that I could get, I have always done my own mechanical work on vehicles so do understand basic mechanics and will be trying to do all mine on boat. would appreciate all advice that can be offered to a newcomer with new boat trying to do his own maintenance best reg Peter
