Take a digital photo, host it on photobucket, then put the image link up here, and we'll tell you within 24 hours I imagine /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

its the one called sea sick

Dave, its got a kind of Shakespeare look to it, like this, look at the stern......
Shakespeare Boats

However I can't see that the rest of the hull or structure matches. It could be that at some stage the deck has been modified of course. Have you some more photos? The trailer looks as if its been used as a launching trolley, that'll be an interesting project.

Welcome to the FORUM dave_123, nice to have another Local about the place.
Thought the stern was the bow at first glance till I noticed the Screen!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Can't tell You much about Her.
Can tell You everything about Encatado though, know Her very well!
Nautorius's shout is a good un but I,m not convinced.
I will pop down to the Yard in a couple of days and have a poke about.
I am a self admitted Motor boat Anorak so between us all on the Forum the mystery will be unvailed.
Funnily enough there is a similar hull across the water from You.
Ashore near Bangor! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Small World innit?
I will be in touch.

Hi Dave - and welcome to the forum. My guess (and its only a guess) is that it could well be an old Broom or more likely Broom copy. Broom sold off a load of hull molds yonks ago and I bought one of these boats which did look distinctly like yours. I put a 70HP Yam on it for use on Lake Windermere. I have been unable to find a piccy of it but found a few that look very like it. The molded GRP lines up to the windscreen and cut away stern are very reminiscent of that type. Not so sure about Nautorius' suggestion, your boat has two strakes and the Sunswift clearly shows 3 on the enlarged photo.

Either way, you are restoring a classic old speed boat that is far more deserving of restoration than rot. With discussions on here gravitating to ever bigger boats, its nice to see some of that balance restored.

Do keep us posted on your progress.

Cheers
Dave

hey thanks for that ive had a quick look up about the broom but the ones i have found dont look like mine they were more flat in the bow than mine.mines really pointy in the bow and it also swoops up quick a lot
