Hi all

I'm new here, so first of all... hello!

I've been boating for many years- sailing/ motor etc and recently bought a new boat. I have a few questions people might be able to answer.

I have pretty much always been a Dory man- I love them, but recently went with a change! I have bought a fairly vintage 'KMV With Vital 15'. It's a Norwegian boat (you can Google it for photos). Does anyone know any history about them? I love the lines- but know nothing about it. I'd be very interested if anyone knew more.

Also, I'm interested in an aspect of safety. I'm used to Dory's which have fairly hefty hulls, although they are famous for 'slapping' in the rough stuff. I took the new boat out in fairly choppy seas the other day for a test, and it does make some alarming slaps as well when hitting waves. This makes me wonder, how much punishment can a GRP hull take on a boat like this before damage occurs? The hull has a fair bit of give in it, and I thought it might be thicker- if you push too hard with waves is there danger the hull could crack? I knew where I was with Dory's- so although these seem like daft questions- I'm just interested in replies!
