Hello all,
Have been checking out this forum for a little while now and thought it was about time I signed up (after all, it is free).
I live in the Algarve where boating is great, so long as it is not August.
Look forward to picking up some tips and info as well as having some fun.

Welcome Trazie,

I'm about to book a weeks holiday in the Algarve com. 5th September.

Do you know of anywhere doing day charter of small motor cruisers?

Martin,
We actually own and run a Charter Company in the Algarve. We have available a Sealine 45ft for skippered charter or can get you a 20-25 footer for bareboat charter. An ICC is the only requirement for the bareboats. All boats are inspected and fully licenced by the Portuguese authorities and the Sealine also carries the MCA and RYA inspections. If you would like further info please let me know and I can send you an e-mail.
Thanks

Welcome to the forum and welcome fellow charterer.
We've got a Sealine F36 & Fairline 50, which we skipper charter and are an
official RYA training school. By the way why not in August? (ref your first post)
Have a look at our web site Trazie link below. Clive of Sun Coast

Re: Chartering

Clive,
Had a look at your website-looks good.

We own a Sealine 450 which is also an rya school boat through Iberian Sea School of Vilamoura. We charter her (skippered) and also have access to a skippered charter Fairline Targa and a couple of smaller boats that can be either skippered or bareboat.

The problem with August is that a lot of boaters - mainly powered - take to the seas for their annual holidays. A few of them know what they are doing but the majority are not so profficient. Add to that all the speed freaks and jet skis whizzing around the boat when anchored and it can make for a stressful month.

Anyway, it is almost September.

Cheers.

Re: Chartering

Hi there,
No typing error, just a silly nickname that has stuck - yes I am a lady! Not that many people would agree with you.
Our school principal is called Martin Northey, he is known by quite a lot of people so I would not be surprised if your principal knows him.
