I'm planning a trip up the Thames from Medway Bridge to Henley...but I'm struggling to find PETROL refuelling points on the way...can anyone help???
Your first one will be at Shepperton Marina, unless you stop overnight at St Kats or Limehouse etc.. and walk to a petrol station with cans.
Certainly petrol available at Windsor and Bray marinas which is the london bus syndrome as they are practically next to each other. Not sure if there is anything between Shepperton and Windsor. The next petrol stop upstream of Bray is at Henley itself - On the Henley bank just upstream of the bridge in amongst the passenger boats. You can miss it if its busy, as the pontoon isn't obvious.
So basically, between Medway bridge & Shepperton there's nothing except nomal petrol stations & lugging a jerry can around. Then from Shepperton onwards I should be able to keep it topped up? WONDERFUL....
Didn't know this thread was going on, or would have paid more attention when I passed by there very recently. Think it was £1.50 a litre.Henly does have riverside petrol but was mega bucks last time I fueled there.
There is a petrol station left hand side just above Maidenhead Bridge within sight of the river.
Regards.
Alan.
Nearly forgot, St Kats has a petrol station in easy walking distance as well.
