Helicopter with film crew ?

..............flying up and down for much of the day at very low altitude.
According to AIS it took off from around Lydd, flew out over the channel and then proceded up to North Essex and Suffolk.
Spent some considerable time hovering over Chatham Reach concentrating on those floating accomodation blocks at Upnor and the Dockyard .
Looking at the track it was mainly following the coastline for much of its travels.

Most of the time it will show you a picture of the craft as well, so you can see if it's a film chopper or police

I have seen UK SAR helicopters on AIS in the channel.

Interesting, I guess SAR have AIS as well as it would be relevant.

Spent some considerable time hovering over Chatham Reach concentrating on those floating accomodation blocks at Upnor and the Dockyard .

And whilst it did so, Sheerness Lifeboat was also searching that part of the river.

So that part of the flight, at least, was a SAR incident.

Interesting, I guess SAR have AIS as well as it would be relevant.

I remember seeing an AIS target moving at 150+ knots in the Thames. It was only when we looked around we saw a Coastguard plane traveling on the same track as the target.
