Ah ha! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Something more like this with them "new fangled" forward facing egg beater thingies? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
Yup one of them, IPS drive boat. I have done the handover to its new owners, its going down the med.
First time I have had a good look around and dug around in the engine bay.
Loads of room down there, and installation is very neat, but forgot my camera today /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif.
She handles very well, cross between out drives and shafts, but with what seems to be the good bits of both.

I like the view from that angle /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Powerskipper can you give us a detailed report on how she handled with these IPS things please? You've driven loads of boats so are probly the best person round here to comment on this. Did it feel much different? Which IPS units did it have and how fast did it go? Thanks!
I was told to drive her like an out drive and just watch for the differences.
The best way to describe her is that she drives like an out drive, IE using the wheel to aid turning etc, but you do not get the swing that would happen with an out drive, its a bit more like a shaft drive turn. she turns very positively. reversing is very shaft drive like without the swing that can happen with an out drive . At low speeds she is very positive, non of the bow wondering that can happen on a sports boat on out drives, she is more like a shaft drive at low speed. We could not high speed test her due to the amount of fog in Southampton water. But I have been told by her now new owners that she handles very uprightly and stable with a tight turning circle, can't wait to have a play at speed. I was impressed and do like the way she handles, I describes her to another instructor as the best of both boats in one boat.
if this is unclear just say. been long day and 2 drinks down on a sat night.
