eber wouldnt start after 8 tries last night. Phoned Krugers this morning after freezing all night and guess what, after phone call, started first go. That's life, bit blowy today here
I always keep two fan heaters. One for when the Eberwatsit undoubtably fails and one for when the fan heater fails. I'm thinking of buying a gas heater for when it all fails as last week when there was no electric on the pontoon for a time and the ebertwat had packed in.
I've had probs with my Eberspacher that sound very similar to yours. Apparently they are very voltage sensitive, not just to under voltage, but to overvoltage as well. What I've found is that I get to the boat, fire the thing up and it turns itself off again after a couple of seconds. After a while- after we've turned other stuff on and put more load on the batteries, etc - the things works OK. (which might tie in with what you are saying) A trick I've found is if the batteries have been on charge (through the AC charger) for a while and are 'brimmed', turn off the charger before firing up the heating and it tends to work OK.
Thats the bugger of them. You solve the problem but it still dont work. Then course the ebertwat bloke says, well it needed a service and xy and z. so ££££££££
I have a DL5 too and it didnt lock last night after 10 tries. Funny it was okay this morning after a night of charge. Krug's said last time the voltage was okay, but maybe it just needed a good charge up, had a new control unit and service 2 months ago, not used since I stuck in some fuel set as advised
