Heat exchange problem

I have Bowman marine heat exchanger on my 1.5 BMC diesel engine, I am installing an oil heat exchanger and intend to run the coolant water from the heater inlet and outlet of the old cylinder head, however, at this time I cannot remove the blanking nut from the rear of the head. My question is can I run the cooling water from the inlet on the BMC cylinder (near the thermostat) to the drain plug of the Bowmans heat exchanger which I believe will still complete a circuit of water with a small pressure difference?

Can you not go from the seacock to the oil heat exchanger then to the pump then up to your engine heat-exchanger.

I thought the same, however, the heat exchanger is part of the oil filter (made up by Lancing Marine) and they have indicated that it should not be cooled by raw water. I don't know whether any of the unit is likely to corrode or it just makes it neater. I have not received the unit yet and I am just doing the preparatory work but it may be an option.

I have a BMC 1.5 with bowman heat exchanger - routing is as follows:-
from raw water inlet to vetus water filter to engine oil heat exchanger to gearbox oil heat exchanger to lower inlet of bowman engine cooling heat exchanger from upper outlet to the raw water pump to exhaust manifold
