Heads up on solar panels

Just received some 20w semi-flexible panels and 2 10w polycrystallines from this guy http://stores.ebay.co.uk/renshuiyuan/_i.html?_fsub=484545719

Ordered a week ago with some trepidation, seemed too good to be true, took some precautions but it was kosher.

Have a look. Sent as samples so no duty.

No connection with them other than as a satisfied customer

Don't forget to come back again in 10 years time and tell us how well they have performed

Thanks for the link. Was it the 2 x 20w hat you ordered? Looks interesting.

Can you give me the dimensions as that's the one thing that seems to be missing from the specs!

Thanks

I'd be interested to find out if they are shadow tolerant. I have one BP mono-crystalline panel and of course it is badly affected by even a small shadow. Not a problem as it was very cheap (surplus from a project).

Semi-flexible would be more prone to shadows due to limited places left to mount them.

You might be interested to find out before sticking them down. All you need to do is wire one up and check the output when shading. Even a single rope kills my BP panel's output. I'd hope that your panels would be more tolerant.

Let me know the result if you do decide to check. None of the cheaper eBay panels mention shadow tolerance.
