Heads up; Aldi 12V USB 2.1Amp outlet etc - see photo £3.49

I had a two socket version with usb and it was fine...... except the RF noise quite ruined the reception of the cricket on radio 4 LW. The dilemma of listen to cricket or charge smart phone - definitely a first world problem.

Had one for a couple of years

Watch out for corrosion of the base plate that the tips of a cigar lighter plug makes contact.
It needs a regular clean and protection with a bit of Contralube
http://contralube.com/contralube-770/ helped.

Its very cheap for a reason!

USB connection not a problem.

I had something similar and it took 2 days of coastal cruising before we realised the RF noise was basically killing all VHF reception over a significant distance..... It wasn't until the boat moored next to us was listening to the local waters forecast and we couldn't hear it that we realised there was anything wrong!!!! It's usually quiet on the East coast, but not that quiet.

Good point. Contralube 770 is my favourite gel.

Still have about 20 of the 75 gramme tubes that I bought before the price hike. I use it all over the place. In any device in the house that takes alkaline batteries (because when they go flat and forgotten about, at least the device is protected from all the battery gunk that comes out).

All connectors on car.

Even in my 'phone and camera and on memory cards. The number of places I use it increases.

cheers
