Hi,
I was wondering whether I need both SAF 111 and trade tack to attach foam backed vinyl to GRP, or could I use just SAF 111?
Many Thanks Jack

I think spreading the SAF 111 on the foam might be challenging, if you have a large area to do. TT to TT is a no-no for a permanent job, apparently.

SAF 111 on to the grp and Trade tack onto the foam is what Hawk House recommend

We did our 22ft single cabin in one go, using Hawke House materials. SAF111 on the overhead, and sprayed HH on the vinyl foam. Worked a treat, they know what they are doing, take their recommendation.

Himself used the Hawke House recommended method on the aft cabin. I was concerned about the fumes (you need good ventilation when you are using those glues) and somebody recommended using heavy duty tile/flooring glue from a large DIY shop near you. It's PVA based and used just like a contact adhesive, spread on both surfaces, leave to go tacky then stick the lining on. I used it for the foam backed vinyl in the forward cabin and the felt-like rubber backed lining in the main cabin.

Ten years on all linings have stayed put (cue for them to start falling off!) and there is no obvious difference between the two types of glue. As the hull is red it heats up considerably in the sun but both glues have put up with it.
