Dear Forum

I have a couple of nicks and tears in the headlining of my yacht which don't warrant headlining replacement. They are just a bit unsightly.

Can anyone suggest the best way to cover them? I had in mind some sticky backed white vinyl or plastic sheeting but am having difficulties sourcing some on Tinternet.

Thanks

Nick

Depending on the texture I have masked nicks like that with silicone mastic. Gun it on and texture /stipple it with a sponge or a sponge in a plastic bag or a scouring pad, whatever. Remember Artex? Practice on a bit of scrap first to get it right. Difficulty is getting a colour match but you will face that with whatever method you use. Bring on the vinyl bathroom paint from B&Q and redo the lot, believe me it works.

Thank you for the advice so far. I don't mind a 'patch' at all and am just wondering if anyone has used anything else to cover cuts and nicks in headlining? there must be some form of self adhesive vinyl or plastic sheeting out there...
