Hi all, I'm just starting to renew the headlinings in the cabin, there are several holes in the ply for access to vents etc, approx 4"- 6" dia, and I'm at a bit of a loss to know how to trim the foam/vinyl around them to achieve a neat result. The existing vinyl lining has just been radially cut many times, folded over the edge of the ply panel and glued to the back, but it ain't pretty 'cos the cuts are visible and I'd like to do better but can't for the life of me think how. Some sort of flexible edging trim would be the answer, but I can't find anything suitable anywhere. Any suggestions??

If the cuts are visible it sounds like they have simply been cut too long, try cutting shorter, pull the tails firmly and staple, glue will adhere to the backing foam only allowing the vinyl to creep thus exposing the cuts.
