headlining glue

A waterpoof PVA wood glue. The supplier of the headlining should be able to supply or a good builders merchant. Buy a 5 litre can and it'll keep you in wood glue for quite a while.

special contact adhesive (hawke house, fareham can supply). you use an aerosol for the back of the lining and a liquid version (like evostik) for the wood, then press together. there is also a version for hot climates which you apply as liquid to both surfaces. both require thorough application, no thin spots.

All my materials; headling, impact adhesive and aerosol for sticking to the GRP and PVA for sticking to plywood also some special adhesive for vinyl to vinyl joints, came from Hawke House. I was however using foam backed vinyl.

They also do a very very useful leaflet on fitting the lining. Follow their advice & use the materials they recommend.

PS no connection with Hawke House just a satisfied customer.

Flooring adhesive, the type used for sticking vinyl down. Lot less smelly than contact adhesive, no flammable vapours, sticks like baby's blanket.

used a spray on adhesive from the local carpet shop - seems to have worked ok and certainly was easy to use.
