Can anyone reccommend someone to fit new headlining for us, the boat's in Tollesbury?

Having reading the various forum comments we're happy to strip the old out but would prefer not to learn the challenges of fitting the new
'on the job'.

Many thanks

Is it stuck to the cabin roof, or on panels?

Panels are easier to do DIY.

Mrs FC and I did our 23ft Jouet in one panel stuck to the roof. Lots of preparation, but it went well.

Mr Moodysabre and I did his panels in his workshop one day, and that went well too, with a creditable result installed.

A Centaur kit installed by Hawke House was about £2k?

Many thanks for all the input. On balance we're now thinking we will give it a go over the next year - in four blocks - especially if we're looking at over £2k ! the major work seems to be on panels which we can take down, apart from round the forehatch and Windows. We'll have a chat with Hawkehouse for advice on glues etc.

Happy to come and help with advice on panels.

Support FC here, panels are a doddle, stuff stuck to the hull, now that's a different question. Unfortunately my Tollesbury headlining man is retired and not taking on new customers...

Lots of good advice here, as always. My recommendation is Roger Nantais:

http://www.boatsandwatersportswebsite.co.uk/headlining-replacement-service

I know Dorset is nowhere near Tollesbury but, about 10 years ago, I was struggling to find someone to replace headlinings throughout in my Westerly Storm. Having been let down badly by one local firm, I spoke with Roger and he offered to travel to Levington to do the job for a fixed price not substantially greater than the cost of just buying a DIY kit from Hawke House.

He turned up on the day promised and finished inside 4 days, leaving the boat woderfully clean and even fixed a couple of minor trim problems in addition to the head lining job. I was a very happy customer, hence this recommendation, and several others like it over the past 10 years.
